17

The registrar shall carry out deregistration of the Party:
- if the Constitutional Court decides that its activities or party acts are unconstitutional;
- if a court decides that the Party's name, short name, acronym and logo are not significantly and unambiguously different from the name, short name, acronym and logo of a party which had been previously registered, or that they are misleading or may be misleading to the citizens;
- if the court decides that the Party's name, short name, acronym and logo are identical or resemble the names of state institutions and regions in the country and the acronyms they use;
- if the Party merges into a new Party.
The registrar shall inform the Party of the deregistration referred to in the preceding paragraph.
The registrar shall initiate procedures to carry out deregistration of the Party:
1. at the Party's request;
2. if it finds that the Party registration was based on false information;
3. if it finds that the Party has failed to elect its bodies within a year after the end of the term of office stipulated in the by-laws;
4. if it finds that the Party did not participate at the National Assembly elections or local community elections for two consecutive years.
The registrar shall inform the Party if deregistration proceedings are initiated and shall invite the Party to respond within a set period of time.
The registrar shall pass a decision regarding deregistration of the Party in the events described under the third paragraph of this Article by formal decision. The Party shall be stricken from the registry once the decision is legally enforceable.
The Party deregistration report referred to in the first paragraph of this Article and the proclamation of the Party deregistration decision referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be promulgated in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia.
