While implementing control on the basis of documents submitted thereto by political parties, independent slate heads and candidates, the National Elections Commission shall, through relevant authorities and departments, verify whether the amount of funds spent corresponds to that of funds received, as presented in financial statements, and whether the information contained in such statements is accurate.
