1. In the event that a fraction of a political party in the Second Chamber of the Parliament is divided, each new fraction which originates as a consequence thereof shall designate a political party which, notwithstanding article 2, will be eligible for a subsidy as from the next calendar year; in this case, and as from that calendar year, the basic sum, as provided for in article 6, section one, which is allocated to the party on the list by which members of the new fraction in the Second Chamber were elected, shall be divided proportionately according to the number of seats held by the political parties involved.
2. The first section shall apply mutatis mutandis in the event that a fraction of a political party in the First Chamber of the Parliament is divided, whereby a subsidy is granted to said political party on the basis of the seats in the First Chamber.
3. In the event that two or more political parties, which on the basis of the present law receive a subsidy, are merged into a new political party, the new political party, notwithstanding article 2, shall be eligible for a subsidy as from the next calendar year.
