For the purposes of the present Law, the following meanings apply: 1. political party: association of natural persons, with or without legal personality, participating in elections pursuant to the Constitution and the law, and presenting, in accordance with article 117 of the Electoral Code, candidates to sit as representatives and senators in each constituency¬ of a community or a region, and which, within the limits of the Constitution, of the law, decree¬s and ordinance, attempts to influence the expression of the popular will as defined in its statutes or programme; 2. revenues of a political party: - endowments granted pursuant to Chapter III of the present Law; - the amounts paid by the institutions, as governed by article 71 of the Income Tax Code; - donations, endowments or bequests; - contributions of the group of the Chamber of Representatives, the Senate or Councils; - membership dues; - revenues derived from fiscal and property assets; - revenues derived from events and publications and from advertising revenues; - contributions from party members ; - miscellaneous provisions having a monetary value or which can be expressed as a monetary value; 3. Expenses of a political party: - personnel costs; - operating costs; - publications; - endowments granted to the components of the party; - expenditure on election publicity ¬; - expenditure related to buildings; - miscellaneous expenses; 4 Supervisory Committee: a committee ¬consisting of an equal number of members of the Chamber of Representatives and of the Senate, chaired by the Speakers of the Chamber of Representatives and of the Senate.
