Chapter Chapter 3: Financing of Electoral Campaigns

18

The maximum allowable expenditure which may be incurred in each campaign is fixed at the following values:
a)6000 national minimum monthly salaries in the election campaign for the Presidência da República (Presidency of the Republic), and a further 2,000 national minimum monthly salaries in the event that the election proceeds to a second round.
b)50 national minimum monthly salaries for each candidate presented in the electoral campaign to the Assembleia da República (Assembly of the Republic);
c)25 national minimum salaries per candidate presented in the election campaign for the Assembleias Legislativas Regionais (Regional Legislative Assemblies);
d)A quarter of the national minimum monthly salary for each candidate presented in the election campaign to local authorities;
e)200 national minimum monthly salaries for each candidate presented in the election campaign for the European Parliament.
2.The limits stipulated in the preceding paragraph apply to parties, coalitions or groups of citizen voters, as determined pursuant to each electoral law.
